Fishing
Sticks can be obtained as a “junk” item while fishing.
Mob loot
Witches have a chance of dropping 0–6 sticks upon death. This is increased by 3 per level of Looting, for a chance of 0-15 sticks.
Block loot
Dead bushes have a chance to drop between 0–2 sticks when destroyed.
Leaves have a chance to drop between 0-2 sticks when decayed.

When used as a furnace fuel, a stick smelts 0.5 items.
Trading
Novice-level fletcher villagers have a 2⁄3 chance to buy 32 sticks for an emerald in Java Edition, and they always offer the trade in Bedrock Edition.
